My name is Blaine Scinta, the founder of reelhaus. I picked up a camera for the first time 16 years ago. It released me in a way that allowed me to bring out how something can make me feel and ignited my love for people and the stories that bring them together.

I grew up in the suburbs of Louisville, Kentucky, in a family where creativity was not just encouraged, it was a way of life. My dad painted for a living, and he taught me the power of intentionality. When I was 16, he handed me a film camera he had used in art school. From there, everything changed, and I knew that photography was not about pressing a shutter button, it was about capturing a balance of light, gesture, and color.

I have learned that being there for the shot is just as important as getting the shot. The moments we cherish most are the ones that slip by unnoticed, the ones you cannot script, stage, or replicate. I chase those moments. The quiet ones. The real ones. The ones that remind us how fleeting and beautiful time can be.

This journey has taken me around the block once or twice. I have slept in cars in the middle of the desert, climbed mountains, camped beside waterfalls, hailed taxis in three languages, eaten Icelandic hotdogs in subzero temperatures (highly recommend, minus the frostbite), and walked roads that have existed for thousands of years. And the more I see, the more I realize there is a story around every corner.

That is why I started reelhaus, to tell those stories. To capture what no one else sees. Because content means nothing unless it connects to our real experiences. I love working closely with brands that do far more than make stuff we do not need and sell ideas rather than solve problems. I wake up every morning to a world that always has a story to be told.
